Hai Van Pass (Ocean and Clouds Pass) is about 20km north of Danang and 80km south of Hue City. If starting from Da Nang, it will take about 40 minutes to reach the foot of Hai Van.
The pass is known as the most rugged mountain pass in Vietnam with a steep slope of 45 degrees, with very dangerous bends like an immortal turning point. In addition, Hai Van Pass is a natural geographical boundary between Danang City and Thua Thien Hue Province, crossing the Truong Son Mountains.
Lap An Lagoon
Lap An is also known as An Cu Lagoon, located at the foot of Phu Gia Pass, right near National Highway 1A, the road that goes through Lang Co town, Phu Loc district.
Because of its geographical location far from the center, connecting Hue and Da Nang, this place still has a wild, mysterious charm. Nothing is better than having some Vietnamese coffee and enjoying the beauty of Lap An Lagoon.
La Vang Holy Land
Also known as La Vang Church is one of the most important pilgrimages for Roman Catholics in Vietnam. From 1765 to 1801, a lot of people suffered from famine and war, and Catholics were persecuted, imprisoned, and killed. According to a legend, Our Lady of Mary appeared in La Vang in 1798.
Hien Luong Bridge
According to the Geneva Agreement, a demilitarized zone was established along the 17th parallel, stretching from the mouth of the Ben Hai River along its length to the Vietnam-Laos border. This zone served as a temporary military boundary dividing Vietnam into North and South.
At that time, the Hien Luong Bridge over the Ben Hai River was also divided into two parts, each belonging to one side. The southern half of the bridge (on the south bank) was painted yellow, while the northern half (on the north bank) was painted blue. A white line, 1 cm wide, marked the boundary between the two halves of the bridge. Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River symbolize the desire for unity of the country.
